Akentenchie Gold Project
The company has secured a 25-acre gold mining concession in Tontu, near Akentenchie, located in the Ahanta West Municipality of Ghana’s Western Region. In partnership with strategic collaborators, BND Resources has launched a small-scale rock mining operation on the site, known as the Akentenchie Gold Project (AGP).
Driven by a commitment to responsible mining practices, operational efficiency, and community engagement, BND Resources aims to become a key player in Ghana’s mining sector while supporting local economic development.
TONTU GOLD CONCESSION
The area is a small-scale concession with hard rock mineral potential for both surface and underground commercial production.
The Tontu Concession is located about 24km west of Takoradi and around the village of Aketenchi and Aboade in the Ahanta West District of the Western Region of Ghana.
The concession is bounded by latitudes 4 0 50’48.44’’N – 4 0 50’20.44’’N and longitudes 1 0 56’1.07’’W – 1 0 55’22.08’’W. Aketenkyi is accessed by a poorly maintained third class road.
This road provides the only vehicular access to the property. Aboade can be reached by a fully asphalted road from Accra through Takoradi, a distance of about 250km.
There are several other villages in the area including Butre, Mpeasem and Aketenkyi but Agona Nkwanta is the largest population center. Agona, the nearest accessible administrative center, has a population of about 200,000. Access to the property by road is an hour drive from the port city of Takoradi.
GEOLOGICAL FINDINGS
According to the Geological Report, BND Resources can project a minimum daily gold production of 3kg, equivalent to 375 pounds or 105oz. This, however, is subject to the choice of extraction or processing methods and the availabilities of mining equipment’s / machineries.
